Become a Certified Peer-to-Peer Supporter.

Recovery to Service is the first and only minimum peer-to-peer qualification for anyone who wants to work or volunteer alongside people and families facing addiction — in churches, rehab centres and recovery ministries. It starts with your story, not a degree.

Why this exists

The people best placed to help are the people who have been there. Until now, nobody trained and recognised them.

Churches are full of men and women who have come through addiction, or carried a family through it, and who quietly help others. Most have no training in boundaries or safeguarding, no supervision, and no way to show a church or rehab centre that they can be trusted. Professionals have registers. Peer supporters have had nothing. Recovery to Service — Certified Peer-to-Peer Supporter closes that gap.

Lived experience, honoured

You don’t need letters after your name. You need to have walked through addiction — your own or a loved one’s — and come out standing. That is the qualification we start from.

A church that vouches for you

Every supporter is known to a church or ministry that will give a reference. Not perfection — accountability, and a community that has your back.

A register people can check

Each certified supporter receives a reference number. Churches, rehabs and families can verify it online without your name or story being made public.

Safeguarding first

Clear boundaries, confidentiality and knowing when to hand over to professionals or emergency services are not an afterthought — they are the spine of the training.

Who it is for

This is for you if…

  • You are in recovery and want your pain to count for something
  • You are the spouse, parent or adult child of someone in addiction and you know how lonely that road is
  • You already serve informally in your church and want to be trained and recognised
  • Your church or rehab centre wants to raise up peer supporters it can trust

Where it fits

Between the weekly meeting and the residential programme, there has been a gap. Peer supporters fill it.

A certified supporter is not a counsellor and does not replace treatment. They are the person who sits with you on a Tuesday night when the meeting is over and the rehab is full — someone trained to listen, to hold a boundary, to pray, and to know exactly when and how to bring in professional help. Churches and rehab centres get people they can trust; families get someone who understands.
