Who can see my chats?
Shame keeps people silent, and silence is where addiction grows. So here is the honest answer, in plain English — no legal language, nothing hidden. If anything here is unclear, email us and a real person will reply.
Nobody reads your chats.
Your conversations with your companion are stored so it can remember you between visits — and for no other reason. There is no screen in our admin tools that shows anyone's chat. The founders do not read them. Your church or group leader cannot see them.
Every conversation is encrypted.
Your messages are scrambled the moment they're saved. Even someone with direct access to our database cannot read your words — only the running system can unscramble them for you when you open your chat.
One exception, and we tell you what it is.
If a message suggests you may be in immediate danger — words about ending your life or having taken too much — that single message is flagged so a real person can check on you. Only that message. Nothing else you have ever said is attached to it.
Trained to handle Scripture with care.
Your companion has been shaped by everything we believe about Scripture — trustworthy and sufficient, but too often quoted badly at people in pain. It never uses a verse as a weapon or a quick fix, only as comfort, offered gently. Read the full statement on our What We Believe page.
Your real name stays private.
Only your email and the name you gave at sign-up are stored. In the community you appear under a nickname you choose. Your real name is never displayed publicly and never appears in the prayer wall or forums unless you type it yourself.
Your companion is an AI — here is what that means for privacy.
To reply, your message and the recent conversation are sent securely to the AI provider that powers the companion. They process it to generate the reply; they are not permitted to use it to train their models or to contact you. No advert company ever sees it.
You can be forgotten — instantly.
In your account (Settings → "Your data, your call") there is a button that deletes everything on the spot: your account, chat history, your companion's memory of you, check-ins, prayers and progress, and cancels any subscription. No email, no waiting. Payment records we are legally required to keep for accounting stay with Stripe, without your conversations attached.
We never see your card.
Payments go straight to Stripe. We only receive confirmation that a payment happened. Your statement will say Christian Family Recovery.
Emails are discreet.
Our emails come from "Christian Family Recovery" with plain subject lines that never mention addiction, alcohol, drugs or relapse. You can switch off every kind of email from your account. The free Seven Prayers pages carry no tracking scripts at all.
