Still Standing
For the Spouse or Partner of Someone Struggling with Addiction
A 12-week course honest about the weight you've been carrying, and clear that laying it down isn't giving up.
You've been holding a lot together. Managing the moods, covering the gaps, answering the questions, keeping things normal for the kids. And somewhere in all of it, your own grief, anger, and exhaustion got moved to the bottom of the list — probably a long time ago.
Still Standing is a 12-week course written for you, not for them.
Written for Husbands as Well as Wives
If your wife is the one struggling, this course is for you. Men in your position are often the least likely to say it out loud and the least well served when they do — the language here is deliberately neutral throughout, and nothing in it assumes the person carrying this weight is a woman.
It starts with the three truths that free most spouses when they finally believe them, rather than just agree with them: you didn't cause this, you can't control it, and you can't cure it. From there it works honestly through the things that rarely get named out loud — grief for the marriage you expected, the patterns that once kept you safe and now keep you stuck, boundaries that aren't ultimatums, shame that was never from God, and the exhausting difference between helping and enabling.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28
It doesn't tell you what to decide about your marriage. It does treat you as someone capable of deciding, with honest information, real biblical grounding, and no pressure to perform a faith you're not currently feeling.
